STORY

The Excursion was Ford's largest SUV, sold for the 2000 to 2005 model years on the chassis of the Super Duty pickups. At 226.7 inches it was nearly two feet longer than the Expedition, with a wheelbase 18 inches longer. Gasoline power came from a 5.4-litre V8 or a 6.8-litre V10 rated at 310 hp and 425 lb-ft. It was rated to tow up to 11,000 lb. Weak sales and high fuel prices ended it after the 2005 model year, and a longer-wheelbase Expedition took its place for 2007.
