STORY

The Five Hundred was an all-new full-size sedan for the 2005 model year, built in Chicago. Its 3.0-litre Duratec V6 was rated at 203 hp in the production listing, and all-wheel drive, sourced from Volvo, came only with a CVT. At the Chicago show in February 2007 Ford announced that the Five Hundred would become the 2008 Taurus, with a new engine adding 60 hp, a 263 hp 3.5-litre V6, a new AWD system and standard stability control.
