STORY

The Flex brought the Fairlane concept, shown at the 2005 North American International Auto Show, to production as a boxy three-row crossover for the 2009 model year. Ford built it at its Oakville Assembly Complex in Ontario, Canada, with a 3.5-litre V6 and an optional twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. By late October 2019 Ford had confirmed that production would end in November, the Lincoln MKT having stopped earlier that month at the same plant. The Flex had a single generation and lasted eleven years; only 2,418 were sold in Canada in the first three quarters of 2019.
