STORY

The Courier name sat on very different Fords. North American buyers got the Mazda-built pickup from the 1972 model year, a rebadged Mazda B-Series sold against small Toyota and Datsun trucks, with a 1.8-litre four and a four-speed manual. A more angular second generation arrived in 1977. North American Courier sales ended after 1982, when the domestically built Ranger took over for 1983. The name had earlier been used on a sedan delivery, first on the full-size Ford from 1952 to 1960 and then on the compact Falcon through 1964, so Ford revived it after about eight years.
