STORY

The Galaxy began as a joint venture with Volkswagen: production started in 1995 at the Autoeuropa plant in Palmela, Portugal, next to the VW Sharan and SEAT Alhambra. The next Galaxy, shown at the Geneva show in March 2006 beside the S-Max, was developed by Ford of Europe and built at Genk in Belgium. The third generation, shown in 2015, was built at Valencia in Spain. Ford ended Galaxy production there in April 2023, together with the S-Max, and 1,100 jobs went with it.
