STORY

The European Granada replaced the Zephyr and the German P7 series in March 1972 and was built at Cologne and Dagenham; the Consul name stayed on the lower models until 1975, and a 2994 cc V6 was among the engines. The Mk2 followed in August 1977 with squarer styling. The Mk3 arrived in April 1985 as the Granada in Britain and Ireland only; everywhere else the same car was the Scorpio, which was named European Car of the Year for 1986. The Granada badge was retired in 1994.
