STORY

The Ford Mondeo was shown in 1992 and reached the market in 1993 as the Sierra's replacement. The Mk3 range was topped from 2002 by the ST220, a 3.0-litre V6 rated at 226 PS. The Mk5, the last generation sold in Europe, was built at Ford's Valencia plant in Spain from 2014 as Ford's Genk plant in Belgium closed at the end of 2014. Ford announced in March 2021 that the model would end, and the final Mondeo for Europe left Valencia on 4 April 2022. Ford did not plan a direct replacement for European buyers.
