STORY
The Ford P100 began in 1971 as a South African pickup built on the front half of a Cortina Mk III. It took the P100 name in 1982, when it was exported from South Africa to Europe. For 1988 Ford redesigned it with the front half of a four-door Sierra, and European production moved to Portugal and ran into the 1990s. The Sierra-based version used a heavy-duty 2.0-litre Pinto four and a 1.8-litre turbodiesel, and the load rating was 1,000 kg.
