STORY

Ranger is really two trucks. The North American compact pickup, introduced for the 1983 model year, ended when the last one was built at the Twin Cities plant in St. Paul, Minnesota, in December 2011, and Ford sold no Ranger in North America until 2019. Meanwhile the global T6 Ranger, designed and engineered by Ford Australia, premiered at the Sydney show in October 2010 and began production at Rayong, Thailand, in 2011. Ford spent $850 million readying Michigan Assembly in Wayne for the T6-platform Ranger that returned to North America as a 2019 model.
