STORY
Ford of Germany used the Taunus name from 1939, when the first Buckeltaunus left the Cologne plant, and revived it in 1948 with the postwar G73A, a development of the prewar car. The 17M P3 of 1960 to 1964 earned the nickname Badewanne, bathtub, and the P7b of 1968 to 1971 offered V4 and V6 engines from 60 to 125 PS. The 26M with a 2.6-litre V6 was added to the P7b range in September 1969. From 1970 the Taunus TC was developed with British Ford and shared its design with the Cortina Mk3. European production ended in 1982 when the Sierra replaced it.
