STORY

Ford unveiled the Taurus X at the Chicago Auto Show on February 7, 2007, as a 2008 model that replaced the Freestyle, the three-row crossover Ford had sold under that name. It was offered with five or seven seats and used a 3.5-liter V6, the same engine family as the revived Taurus sedan shown at that event. That sedan was the Five Hundred renamed, so for 2008 Ford sold two cars with the Taurus badge, a sedan and a crossover, both newly relabelled.
