STORY

Ford introduced the Taurus in 1985 and sold it from the 1986 model year. By 1992 it was the best-selling car in the United States. The Taurus SHO arrived for 1989 with a 3.0-liter V6 built by Yamaha and rated at 220 horsepower. After the first run ended, the name came back for 2008 on the full-size sedan first sold as the Five Hundred. The last North American Taurus left Chicago Assembly on March 1, 2019, and more than eight million Tauruses had been built in all.
