STORY

Geely launched the Borui sedan in China on 9 April 2015 at 119,800 to 229,800 yuan. The design began as the Emgrand KC concept and was tested under the GC9 name; cars seen in December 2014 still wore GC9 badges, and the designation was dropped at launch. The fastback body is credited to Peter Horbury. The 2015 range had three petrol engines with a six-speed automatic: a 2.4-litre four with 162 hp, a 1.8-litre turbo four with 163 hp, and a 3.5-litre V6. A plug-in and mild-hybrid Borui GE followed in 2018 with a 1.5-litre turbo three-cylinder, with plug-in prices of 166,800 to 199,800 yuan after subsidy.
