Why the Okavango matters

The Okavango is reported to be the export name of the Geely Haoyue, a seven-seat SUV that went on sale in China on 23 June 2020 at 103,600 to 139,600 yuan. The Chinese car launched with a 1.8T petrol rated at 184 PS and 300 N·m and a seven-speed dual-clutch, in five- or seven-seat form. In the Philippines pre-orders for the Okavango opened on 17 October 2020, and the distributor quoted a 1.5T with a 48-volt hybrid system at 190 hp combined and a seven-seat layout. The body is 4,835 mm long on a 2,815 mm wheelbase. A longer Haoyue L with a 160 kW 2.0T followed in China in December 2022 at 127,900 to 147,900 yuan.
