STORY

The Geo Prizm was sold in the 1990 to 1997 model years and built at NUMMI, the joint General Motors and Toyota plant in Fremont, California. It was mechanically a twin of the Toyota Corolla and took over from the Chevrolet Nova, which was also a NUMMI Corolla.

The first generation (1990-1992) came as a sedan and a hatchback. Its 1.6-litre Toyota 4A-FE four-cylinder engine made 102 PS, and the GSi had the twin-cam 4A-GE with 130 PS. The second generation (1993-1997) was a sedan only, on the Toyota E100 Corolla platform, with 1.6 and 1.8-litre engines. After the Geo brand ended, the car continued as the Chevrolet Prizm.
