STORY

The Caballero was GMC's rebadged version of the Chevrolet El Camino, a car-based pickup blending passenger-car comfort with an open cargo bed. Built on GM's A-body and later G-body platform, it succeeded the earlier Sprint nameplate and shared its mechanicals with the Malibu wagon. Production ended in 1987 as demand for coupe-utility vehicles faded in the United States.
