STORY
The Canyon debuted for 2004 as GMC's midsize pickup. It shared its GMT355 platform with the Chevrolet Colorado and replaced the compact Sonoma. GM briefly withdrew from the segment in 2012, and an all-new second generation arrived for 2015 with four-cylinder, V6 and Duramax diesel engines. A third generation launched for 2023 with only a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder and more rugged, off-road-focused styling.
