STORY

The GMT400 was GM's full-size truck platform introduced for the 1988 model year, underpinning the GMC Sierra and C/K pickups. Its rounded, aerodynamic styling was a sharp departure from the boxy square-body trucks it replaced, and it came with a broad lineup of gasoline and diesel V8 engines. The architecture served through 1999 on light-duty models before the GMT800 took over.
