STORY

The Jimmy began in 1970 as GMC's full-size counterpart to the Chevrolet K5 Blazer, a two-door SUV with a removable roof. The name later transferred to a compact SUV based on the S-15 pickup, which was sold through 2001 alongside its Chevrolet S-10 Blazer twin. A four-door body style broadened its appeal before the Jimmy was replaced by the Envoy.
