STORY
The Kingswood name arrived with the HK range in January 1968, when it replaced the HR and took the place of the old Standard and Special names. The HK was larger and heavier than the HR. For the first time a Holden could be ordered with a V8, an imported 307 cu in Chevrolet engine. The HT of May 1969 moved to Australian-built 253 and 308 cu in V8s, and the HG followed in July 1970.
The HQ of July 1971 was an all-new Holden with 173 and 202 cu in sixes and 253 and 308 cu in V8s, with the Chevrolet 350 as an option. The Kingswood remained Holden's full-size family car until 1984, ending with the WB. Sedan, wagon, utility and panel van versions were built.
