STORY

Two unrelated Honda cars carry this name. The first, written アヴァンシア in Japan, was an upmarket wagon-style car announced on 13 September 1999 and sold from 15 September through Honda Clio dealers with a 2.3 L four and a 3.0 L V6. A sporty Nouvelle Vague grade arrived in September 2001, and sales ended in October 2003. The second is the Chinese 冠道 Avancier, a crossover built by GAC Honda and launched in October 2016 with a 2.0 L turbo engine. Dongfeng Honda sells a near twin under the name UR-V, which went on sale in March 2017 with its own bonnet, grille, bumpers and lamps. The Japanese car is a wagon and the Chinese car is a crossover, so the name covers two different vehicles.
