Civic 1.6 VTi 3-Door (EU)

6th gen (EK) · 1996–2000FWD

With 160 PS from its 1.6 L VTEC four-cylinder, the VTi was the sporting three-door hatchback in Europe's sixth-generation Civic (EK) line, sold from 1996 to 2000. It uses a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. Europe did not get the Type R in this generation, so the VTi was the top performance Civic there.

STORY

The Honda Civic debuted in 1972 as a fuel-efficient subcompact and was pivotal to Honda's global expansion, notably with its low-emission CVCC engine that met U.S. Clean Air standards without a catalytic converter. It has grown across eleven generations from a subcompact into a compact car offered in hatchback, sedan, and coupe forms, and remains one of the best-selling nameplates in Honda's history.
