Civic HX Coupe (US)

7th gen (EP/ES) · 2001–2005FWD

The two-door version of the seventh-generation HX in the US, 2001 to 2005, shares its 1.7 L lean-burn four-cylinder and CVT with the HX sedan. Drive goes to the front wheels. The coupe body is lower, and the HX's economy bias sets it apart from the sportier Si hatchback.

STORY

The Honda Civic debuted in 1972 as a fuel-efficient subcompact and was pivotal to Honda's global expansion, notably with its low-emission CVCC engine that met U.S. Clean Air standards without a catalytic converter. It has grown across eleven generations from a subcompact into a compact car offered in hatchback, sedan, and coupe forms, and remains one of the best-selling nameplates in Honda's history.
