In Japan the third-generation CR-V, sold from 2006 to 2011, came with a single powertrain: the 2.4 L petrol engine, a five-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Honda dropped the 2.0 L engine of earlier Japanese CR-Vs for this generation. It is a larger-engined car than the earlier versions sold there.
