In the US the del Sol VTEC, sold from 1994 to 1997, was the performance version. Its 1.6 L DOHC VTEC four-cylinder makes 160 hp and 160 N m, with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. It sat above the Si, and it is the most powerful del Sol sold in America.

STORY

The Honda CR-X del Sol was a front-engine, front-wheel-drive targa-top two-seater sold from 1992 as the successor to the CR-X. It featured a removable roof panel that stowed in the trunk, with a power-operated TransTop system offered on some markets that automatically stowed the roof. It was discontinued in 1998 without a direct replacement.
