Element (2003-2011) · 2003–2011

The basic Element DX with a manual gearbox has a 2.4 L four-cylinder petrol engine making 160 hp and 218 N m. It was the simplest version of Honda's boxy US SUV, with the washable floor and the bi-parting rear doors, and the manual gearbox was the rarer way to buy one.

STORY

The Honda Element was a boxy compact crossover built from 2003 to 2011, primarily for the North American market, on a platform derived from the CR-V. It featured rear-hinged clamshell rear doors with no B-pillar, a durable urethane-coated floor, and water-resistant seats aimed at active-lifestyle buyers. It was offered in front- and all-wheel-drive forms before being discontinued in 2011.
