Sold in international markets from 2001 to 2008, the Fit 1.5 (GD) is the larger-engined first-generation hatchback. A 1.5 L four-cylinder petrol engine drives the front wheels through an automatic gearbox. It sat above the 1.3 L cars, with the center-tank layout and Magic Seats common to the whole range.

The Honda Fit (Jazz in many markets) is a B-segment subcompact launched in 2001, built around Honda's center-tank layout that places the fuel tank under the front seats to free up cabin and cargo space. Its signature Magic Seats allow multiple flexible folding configurations, and it has become one of Honda's global best-sellers across four generations. Hybrid versions have been offered from the second generation onward.
