STORY

Honda released the Freed on 29 May 2008 and put it on sale in Japan the next day as a 1.5-litre compact minivan, offering what Honda called the first eight-seater in its class and the first seven-seater with second-row captain's seats. The second generation went on sale on 16 September 2016 in 16 types, including the two-row Freed+ and what Honda, by its own research as of September 2016, called the first hybrid 4WD compact minivan. The third generation followed on 28 June 2024 under the theme "Smile: Just Right Mover", with e:HEV hybrid power and a monthly sales target of 6,500 in Japan.
