STORY

Honda sold the MDX in Japan from 2003 to 2006, but it was the Acura MDX of North America with a Honda badge, not a Japanese design. Honda's release says it was built by Honda of Canada Manufacturing in Alliston, Ontario, and imported. It was announced on 27 February 2003 and went on sale on 14 March through Honda Verno stores, with sales of the 2003 model year planned at 1,700 cars. The only grade at launch, the Exclusive, cost 4,850 thousand yen before tax. It had a 3.5 litre V6 rated 191 kW (260 PS) and 345 N·m, a five-speed automatic, the VTM-4 four-wheel drive with VSA, and three rows for seven. A simpler grade arrived in 2004, and sales ended in 2006.
