The front-drive 2.0 is the base layout of the third-generation US HR-V, sold from 2023. Its four-cylinder petrol engine makes 158 hp and 187 N m through a CVT, with power going to the front axle only. It shares the body, engine and roomier cabin with the all-wheel-drive version.

STORY

The Honda HR-V debuted in 1998 as an early compact crossover on the Logo/Civic platform, then was discontinued in 2006. The nameplate returned in 2015 with a new model derived from the Fit and sold in Japan as the Vezel, followed by a third generation in 2021. It has grown into one of Honda's key global compact SUVs.
