The Insight 5MT (EU) is the European first-generation Insight with a five-speed manual, sold from 2000 to 2006. A 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with IMA hybrid assist drives the front wheels. The two-seat aluminium liftback uses rear wheel skirts and a slippery shape to cut drag.

STORY

The Honda Insight was a hybrid model that began in 1999 as Honda's first mass-produced hybrid and the first hybrid sold in the United States. The original was a lightweight aluminum two-seat coupe, while later generations became a five-door hatchback and then a compact sedan. It used Honda's Integrated Motor Assist and later two-motor hybrid systems before being discontinued in 2022.
