The Insight CVT (US) added a CVT automatic to the US first-generation Insight for the 2001 model year, giving the two-seat liftback an easier alternative to the manual. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and IMA motor make 73 hp and drive the front wheels. This version carried a stricter SULEV emissions rating than the manual.

STORY

The Honda Insight was a hybrid model that began in 1999 as Honda's first mass-produced hybrid and the first hybrid sold in the United States. The original was a lightweight aluminum two-seat coupe, while later generations became a five-door hatchback and then a compact sedan. It used Honda's Integrated Motor Assist and later two-motor hybrid systems before being discontinued in 2022.
