Sedan Hondamatic

1st gen (SA/WA/VA) · 1971–1974FWD

This Life swaps the manual gearbox for Honda's Hondamatic automatic. The water-cooled 0.36 L two-cylinder still makes 30 PS and drives the front wheels, so it matches the manual sedan in output. It was sold in Japan from 1971 to 1974 as the easy-driving choice of the sedan range.

STORY

The Honda Life was a kei car sold in Japan, revived in 1997 and continuing through several generations as a tall, practical five-door hatchback. It competed in Japan's 660cc kei-car class with front- and all-wheel-drive options. It was discontinued in 2014, with the N-series kei cars taking its place.
