STORY

Honda announced the Logo on 3 October 1996 as a compact town car, which the press treated as the de facto successor to the second-generation City, and sold it from 4 October as a three-door and from 1 November as a five-door through all Honda dealers. A new 1.3-litre engine tuned for low and middle-speed torque was standard, with the Multimatic CVT rated at 18.0 km/L on the 10-15 mode cycle for the three-door, a figure Honda said varied with options, and the three-door B grade with the five-speed manual started at 770,000 yen before tax. The tall Capa went on sale in April 1998 as a separate model. The Fit followed it in 2001, and the Logo had no second generation.
