STORY

Quint was the Japanese name of this Honda five-door hatchback, announced on 13 February 1980 and sold from 16 February through Honda Verno stores. Quintet was the name for export markets, including Europe, and Jaguar Rover Australia sold it as the Rover Quintet from 1983. The new 1,601 cc EP engine was rated 90 PS in Japan, while export cars are listed at 80 PS because Japanese figures follow a different test standard. Honda offered TL, TS and TE types with a five-speed manual or an overdrive Hondamatic and planned 3,000 sales a month, mostly in Japan. The Quint Integra, announced on 19 February 1985 and on sale from 20 February, with DOHC engines in every version, succeeded it.
