The original Honda Today, the JW1 550, was a kei hatchback sold from 1985 to 1988. A 0.55 L two-cylinder petrol engine produces 43 N m and drives the front wheels through a manual gearbox. It predates the 660 cc cars that followed in 1990.

STORY

Honda announced the Today on 10 September 1985 and sold it from 11 September through Honda Primo as a kei commercial vehicle with a 545 cc two-cylinder engine rated 31 PS and a 2,330 mm wheelbase. A Pochette special edition followed in February 1987. The Today was redesigned on 26 January 1993, on sale the next day, with a passenger-car design, a semi-notchback body and a base 48 PS three-cylinder PGM-FI engine. Production ran until 1998.
