STORY

Honda announced the Zest on 23 February 2006 and sold it from 1 March at its Japanese dealers. It was a tall kei wagon on a low-floor platform based on the Life, with an interior height Honda matched to the Step WGN. The engine was the 660 cc three-cylinder i-DSI, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with an electronic four-speed automatic. Honda called it the first kei car with side curtain airbags for front and rear seats, by its own survey. The name is the English word for something that adds zest: a stimulating tang, appeal and fun. The Zest Sports line gave way to the Zest Spark, with projector HID headlights, on 26 December 2008. Sales ended in November 2012.
