The E-QM5 arrived in 2021 as a battery-electric mid-size sedan built for a very different job from Hongqi's limousines. It was aimed squarely at ride-hailing and fleets, where durability and running costs matter more than prestige. It has a front-mounted single motor and a simple, roomy four-door body, and a battery-swap version was built for taxi fleets.
The E-QM5 is a mid-size all-electric sedan aimed mostly at fleet, ride-hailing and taxi service, as well as private buyers. It comes in battery-swap and conventional-charging versions and has a range of 431 km on the NEDC cycle. It extended Hongqi's EV range beyond flagship models into everyday urban mobility.
