The H7 went on sale in May 2013 after being shown at the 2012 Beijing show. It was a large front-engined executive four-door aimed at rivals such as the Audi A6L. Engines included a FAW-built 2.0-liter turbo four and Toyota-sourced V6s. It stayed in production for several years, and the H9 later took over the flagship-sedan role.
The H7 is Hongqi's midsize-to-full-size luxury sedan, a mainstay of the brand's revival lineup aimed at executive buyers. It has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four or a V6, with an emphasis on refinement, rear-seat comfort and a formal, dignified design. Positioned above the H5, it was for a long time the flagship sedan until the larger H9 arrived. The H7 helped re-establish Hongqi as a credible modern luxury car brand.
