STORY

The Atos was Hyundai's tall-bodied city car, released in September 1997 with an 800 cc Epsilon four-cylinder for Korea and a 1.0-litre for export. European sales began in 1998, under the Atoz name in Britain, and a restyled Atos Prime followed in 1999, sold in Korea and Indonesia as the Kia Visto. In India the Atos Prime was launched in 1998 as the Santro, and an updated Santro Xing followed in 2003. From August 2003 Indian-built cars were shipped to Europe, where the hatchback was sold as the Atos Prime.
