Hyundai's two-door Coupe came in two generations. The first, coded RD, was a 1997 model year car; in North America it was the Tiburon, and its US 2.0-litre four was rated at 140 hp. The second, GK, reached the US as a 2003 model. It was sold as the Coupe in parts of Europe and as the Tiburon in North America, Australia and South Africa, with a 2.0-litre four or an optional 2.7-litre V6. US model years ran from 2003 to 2008.
The Hyundai Coupe was the European name for the sporty two-door sold elsewhere as the Tiburon, produced across two generations from 1996 until the late 2000s. Combining distinctive coupe styling with front-wheel drive and a choice of four-cylinder and V6 engines, it was Hyundai's affordable sports coupe, a rival to cars like the Ford Cougar and Toyota Celica.
