Mufasa is a compact SUV that Hyundai built for China through Beijing Hyundai, its 50:50 joint venture with BAIC, formed in 2002. The Mufasa Adventure concept appeared in March 2023 as a preview of the production car, which debuted at Auto Shanghai in April 2023. It is about 4,475 mm long and 1,850 mm wide, roughly 25 mm shorter than the ix35. Its wheelbase is 2,680 mm and its height is 1,665 mm. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol four rated at 160 PS (118 kW), driving the front wheels.
The Mufasa is Beijing Hyundai's compact SUV for China, sold since 2023, with a 2.0-litre engine.
