STORY

Nexo is Hyundai's dedicated hydrogen fuel-cell SUV, revealed at CES in January 2018 as the replacement for the Tucson Fuel Cell. The first generation reached 380 miles (611 km) on the EPA cycle in its best version, and its three tanks held 156 litres, about 6.3 kg of hydrogen. Hyundai previewed the second generation as the Initium concept in October 2024 and revealed the production car on 3 April 2025. It targets more than 700 km (435 miles), with a 150 kW (201 hp) peak motor output and a tank capacity of up to 6.69 kg of hydrogen against 6.33 kg before.
