The L6 is IM Motors' mid-size sedan, launched in 2024 as a more attainable companion to the larger L7 and a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3 and Xiaomi SU7 in China. Its main technology was a "Lightyear" semi-solid-state battery, one of the first such packs on a series-production car. It was paired with an 900V-class electrical architecture and a very fast claimed charging time. Like all IM products, it comes from the Shanghai joint venture of SAIC, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech and Alibaba.
