V36 (G25 / G37 / Q40) · 2010–2015RWD

The Q40 was the name given to the fourth-generation G37 sedan for the 2014 and 2015 model years, sold as a lower-priced companion to the newer Q50. It retained the 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6, seven-speed automatic, and rear-wheel-drive underpinnings essentially unchanged. It marked the final chapter of the long-running G-series sport sedan.

STORY

The G-series began as the G20, a rebadged Nissan Primera sold from 1991, but became Infiniti's breakout success with the rear-drive G35 of 2003, based on the acclaimed FM platform shared with the Nissan 350Z. The G37 followed in 2007 in sedan, coupe and convertible forms. The sedan was renamed Q40 for 2014 as a value-priced holdover alongside the newer Q50.
