The I35 replaced the I30 for the 2002 model year, upgrading to a 3.5-liter V6 while retaining the Maxima-based front-wheel-drive layout. It served as Infiniti's mid-range sedan focused on comfort and equipment rather than sport. It was phased out as the rear-drive G-series took over the segment.

STORY

The I30 arrived in 1995 as a front-wheel-drive entry-luxury sedan derived from the Nissan Maxima/Cefiro, powered by the smooth 3.0L VQ V6. It was updated to the I35 in 2001 with a 3.5L V6 and revised styling. The line was discontinued in 2004, effectively replaced by the rear-drive G35.
