STORY

The Impulse was Isuzu's sporty coupé, the export name for the Piazza and later a Gemini-based model, blending Italian and Japanese design influences. The second-generation car was a front-wheel-drive hatch-coupé, offered with a turbocharged engine and a chassis tuned with input from Lotus. Sold in the US, it was one of the more distinctive small sport coupés of its day.
