STORY

The MU (Mysterious Utility) was a compact two-door SUV based on Isuzu's pickup chassis, sold abroad as the Amigo and, in longer four-door form, as the Rodeo and Wizard. Launched in 1989, it offered rugged four-wheel drive with a choice of gasoline and Isuzu's characteristic diesel engines. It established the recreational SUV template that Isuzu would build on with the later MU-X.
