STORY

The Trooper was Isuzu's mid-size, body-on-frame SUV and a genuine off-road workhorse, sold worldwide under many names including Holden Jackaroo and Vauxhall/Opel Monterey. It built its reputation on Isuzu's tough turbo-diesel engines and simple, durable four-wheel-drive mechanicals favored by overlanders. The second generation grew more refined and upmarket while retaining serious off-road capability.
