STORY

The Grand Wagoneer name first topped the SJ Wagoneer line. From 1984 it was a lavishly trimmed flagship with faux woodgrain that pioneered the luxury full-size SUV, and it ended in 1991. Jeep revived the nameplate in 2021 for the 2022 model year, above the reborn Wagoneer, this time as a premium line on a Stellantis body-on-frame platform. At launch they offered a 6.4-liter V8 or a twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six, with three-row seating and upscale interiors, aimed squarely at the Escalade and Navigator.
